black+white

Black+White is a classic color combination. It's perfect for parties and weddings. Styling can go playful/casual, modern/contemporary and of course full on glamour/black tie.

Some leftovers from this weekend led me to create my own take on black+white. The result...one of my favorite bouquets...ever!

The centerpiece features ranunculus, anemones, and lisianthus with scabiosa pods, veronica, queen anne's lace and dusty miller to provide some texture in a sweet little mercury glass bowl .

And a little inspiration for your own black+white fete...

sunflowers

Saturday I got to work with the wonderful team from eat well celebrations and feasts. Chef Renee Schuler and her staff work hard to create events that are a feast for all of the senses. Like, seriously, they are the shizz!

Saturday night was a birthday party. The birthday girl loves sunflowers! We used an assortment of yellow and white with some organic elements thrown in. I hope she enjoyed them:)

a modern mix

My personal flower loves are typically romantic, garden like blooms. Think ranunculus, peonies, hydrangea. I mean the heart loves what the heart loves,no? I do understand that not everyone shares my love. This combination was created for a client with a much more modern aesthetic. She wanted deep, rich colors and some tropical blooms included.

The small cube featuring the green cymbidium orchid and bear grass prettied up the cocktail tables. The dining room centerpieces were a mix red charm peonies, free spirit roses, pincushion protea, freedom roses, eggplant mini callas, green cymbidiums and manzanita branches in two different style containers- a tall cylinder and low cube.

I managed to mix my beloved peonies in with her modern style and I love the result! These were for a huge birthday celebration but something like this would be terrific for a late summer/early fall wedding.

red+pink

The combination of red and pink is one of my all time favorite color combos! I was this close to using this exact color story for my own wedding.  And, seriously...those peonies...so in love with them!

The touch of lime green viburnum gives this very classic, very garden-esque bouquet of peonies, roses, snapdragons and tulips a playful touch. The black garden urn used for the centerpiece is classic yet modern.

This pretty duo would be perfect for a late summer garden wedding!
